Bulgarian satellite manufacturer EnduroSat has secured $205 million (€178 million) in new funding, pushing the total raised by European NewSpace companies in September above €1 billion.

Announced on 16 September, EnduroSat’s new funding round was co-led by US investment firms Riot Ventures and Atreides Management, with participation from the European Innovation Council, among others. It marks EnduroSat’s second major funding round in less than a year, following a $104 million raise in October 2025.

In a 16 September press release, the company said the funding would enable it to establish a new high-volume manufacturing facility in the United States and significantly expand its industrial footprint in Europe. That European expansion includes plans announced on 6 August to transform the former Dobroslavtsi military airbase near Sofia into a major space and defence development and manufacturing hub.

The EnduroSat round extends a recent surge in private investment in European NewSpace companies. In the past several weeks, PLD Space has added €108 million to its Series C, HyImpulse has secured more than €50 million in additional funding, The Exploration Company has raised $450 million, and Open Cosmos has secured €300 million. Together with EnduroSat’s $205 million raise, the five companies have announced approximately €1.03 billion in new funding since 1 September, based on conversions of the dollar-denominated rounds into euros.

While the funding announced in September thus far is particularly notable, it is part of a broader investment trend across Europe’s space sector in 2026. In a 10 September analysis, the European Space Policy Institute said European space ventures had already raised more in the first half of 2026 than in all of 2025. The results from September suggest that, if anything, that trend may be accelerating.

Alongside the funding raise, EnduroSat has also secured two large constellation orders this month alone. On 10 September, the company announced that its US subsidiary had been selected to build 40 satellites for TrustPoint’s planned low Earth orbit positioning, navigation and timing constellation. One week later, US spatial intelligence company Vantor, formerly Maxar Intelligence, selected EnduroSat to provide satellite buses and integration services for its planned 24-satellite Pulse Earth observation constellation.
