European Spaceflight provides information and news about the European space industry. We also offer a number of additional verticals which include but are not limited to our podcast, our store, our newsletter, and our download centre.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, hereafter simply referred to as “the Policy”, “European Spaceflight”, “we”, “our” or “us” means the European Spaceflight LTD entity responsible for the collection and use of personal data under the Policy. Additionally, for the purposes of the Policy, “the site” means europeanspaceflight.com and all associated subdomains.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment if you have set up a Gravatar account.

Newsletter and emails
If you have subscribed to our newsletter or if you are a member of our website (you can log in) or if you have purchased on our website, there is a good chance you will receive emails from us.

We will only send you emails that you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provided to you.

To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. Our site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent abuse of the system.

This website can send emails through the MailPoet sending service. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters. No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for a customer’s email address.

User registration
Our User Registration service is utilized to allow access to the site’s Forum. It can also be used for Shop customers looking to track past and current orders.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

• Form Fields Data: Forms Fields data includes the available field types when creating a form. We’ll use this to, for example, collect information like Name, Email, and other available fields.
• Location, IP address, and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like geolocating users and reducing fraudulent activities.
• Transaction Details: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, provide subscription packs, and keep track of your payment details for subscription packs!

When you fill in a form, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, address, email, phone number, payment details, and optional account information like username and password and any other form fields available in the registration form.

We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

• Send you information about your account and order
• Respond to your requests, including transaction details and complaints

Shop
The European Spaceflight shop is the only place to get our official posters and merch. The shop’s exact inventory will change from time to time.

While you visit our shop, we’ll track:

• Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed.
• Location, IP address, and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping.
• Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
• We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details, and optional account information like username and password.

We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

• Send you information about your account and order
• Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
• Process payments and prevent fraud
• Set up your account for our store
• Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
• Improve our store offerings
• Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. This includes your name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses.

Payments
In order to enable purchasing at the European Spaceflight shop, we utilize WooCommerce Payments which has been built in partnership with international payment processor Stripe.

Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased, where it should be sent, and customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information can also be viewed by our team. Access to this information is only used to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

No payment information like credit card numbers is collected directly by European Spaceflight. This information is collected by WooCommerce Payments and their payment processing partner Stripe. As a result, no European Spaceflight team member will have access to this information.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Additionally, we share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example TPop, our print-on-demand fulfillment partner.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

For users that purchase from our shop, we also store the personal information and payment information supplied to complete your purchase and fulfill your order. You can send a request to support@europeanspaceflight.com to have your personal information deleted once your purchase has been fulfilled. Your payment information cannot be viewed by European Spaceflight team members and is only kept by WooCommerce and their payment partners Stripe as long as is legally required by your particular state.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, purchase from the shop, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection services. Your personal details may also be used to verify your payment method with the use of automated or manual fraud detection services.
