European rocket launches in 2026

Europe’s launch schedule in 2026 will see Ariane 6 and Vega C increase their flight cadences alongside planned launches from a growing group of commercial rocket companies.

Ariane 6 will account for much of Europe’s orbital launch activity in 2026, with both the two-booster Ariane 62 and four-booster Ariane 64 configurations expected to fly during the year. The launcher is continuing its transition into regular operations, carrying a mix of commercial and institutional missions from the Guiana Space Centre.

Vega C will also remain an important part of Europe’s launch activity in 2026, with several missions planned during the year for European institutional and scientific customers.

Europe’s emerging commercial launch sector is also targeting several orbital flights in 2026. Isar Aerospace is working towards the second flight of its Spectrum rocket from Andøya Spaceport following its first launch attempt in March 2025, while Rocket Factory Augsburg is preparing for the inaugural flight of RFA ONE from SaxaVord Spaceport in Scotland.

Other European launch programmes will continue development during 2026, including MaiaSpace, which has shifted its focus from a planned suborbital test flight to an inaugural orbital launch attempt targeted for 2027.

What is included in the schedule?

The European Rocket Launch Schedule tracks orbital launches by European-developed launch vehicles, regardless of where they lift off. This means launches from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana are included alongside missions from European launch sites such as Andøya Spaceport and SaxaVord Spaceport.

Selected suborbital flights are also included where they form part of the development of a European orbital launch system or represent a significant European launch programme like DLR’s MORABA. Launch dates can change at short notice and are updated as new information becomes available.
