Swedish small satellite manufacturer AAC Clyde Space has secured up to SEK 140 million (โ‚ฌ12.8 million) in new funding through a directed share issue, with Stockholm-based venture capital firm Bonnier Capital becoming its largest shareholder. The company will use the proceeds of the share issue to fund its commitments to the INFLECION maritime domain awareness satellite constellation.

Initially announced in February 2025, the AAC Clyde Space-led INFLECION project aims to develop a constellation of satellites to monitor and support maritime operations. The project has an estimated cost of โ‚ฌ30.7 million and is co-funded by the UK Space Agency through ESA’s Advanced Research in Telecommunication Systems (ARTES) Partnership Project Programme.

An initial design phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. A 15-month development phase will then follow, with the expectation that the system will be fully operational by 2028. Once operational, the constellation will be used for vessel route optimisation, smuggling and illegal fishing surveillance, and monitoring compliance with marine conservation regulations.

On 15 December, AAC Clyde Space announced that it had secured a strategic investment of up to SEK 140 million that will fully fund its commitments to the INFLECION project. An initial SEK 100 million has been committed through a directed share issue of 1,188,637 new shares at a subscription price of SEK 84.13 per share, which has been fully subscribed by Bonnier Capital. Part of the share issue, corresponding to approximately SEK 49.7 million, is subject to shareholder approval during an Extraordinary General Meeting on 2 January 2026. Beyond this initial share issue, the agreement allows for up to SEK 40 million in additional investment from Bonnier Capital between April and December 2026.

“With strengthened financing and a committed owner, we can accelerate the delivery of key programmes,โ€ said AAC Clyde Space CEO Luis Gomes. โ€œThis includes adding satellite capacity to meet strong demand for maritime data services and advancing INFLECION, the next generation of space-based maritime intelligence. The investment gives us the stability and scale to build both near-term capability and future services that provide customers with timely, high-quality space-based intelligence.”
